Korvbrödsbagarn joins Lantmännen’s cultivation program Climate & Nature

News, 2025

Lantmännen Unibake Sweden adds the Korvbrödsbagarn brand to Climate & Nature. As a result, all Swedish bakeries will produce bakery products with grain raw materials connected to Lantmännen’s cultivation program. In addition to Korvbrödsbagarn's range, baguettes and pastries from Bonjour and selected breads from Hatting have also been connected to Climate & Nature.

Climate & Nature is Lantmännen’s program for farming of the future, which aims to reduce the climate impact of cultivation and benefit biodiversity. Through the commitment, Lantmännen Unibake is taking important steps to reduce the business’s indirect emissions upstream in the value chain, so-called scope 3 emissions.

“It is very positive that we are now adding our brands to Lantmännen’s Climate & Nature cultivation program. It is a crucial step in delivering on our Science Based Targets targets, where we will reduce scope 3 emissions by 30 percent by 2030. In addition, we will continue to deliver high-quality and good food – but with a lower climate impact, just as it should be," says Jonas Lindell, Managing Director Lantmännen Unibake Sweden.

From spring 2025, Korvbrödsbagarn’s and Hatting’s bread, that are baked in Örebro, will be covered by the Climate & Nature program.

"In addition to aligning the development and sustainability work that Lantmännen successfully conducts, this announcement means that we will strengthen our offering to customers and consumers," says Eva Strömbom, Marketing & Innovation Director, Lantmännen Unibake Sweden.

The decision to join Climate & Nature is in line with Lantmännen Unibake's sustainability program "Baking for a better world", which includes concrete measures to create a more sustainable business by focusing on the three key areas climate, healthy food and good working conditions for employees.

Climate & Nature
Climate & Nature is Lantmännen’s program for the Agriculture of the Future. The program includes specific measures to reduce the climate impact of cultivation and benefit biodiversity. Through contract farming, Lantmännen ensures a market for the harvest, while the farmer is compensated for the efforts carried out on their own farms, such as fossil-free transport and fuel, fossil-free drying, flowering zones and larch plots. The program is dynamic and criteria included in the program are continuously added and developed to be able to reduce climate impact further over time. For more information about Climate & Nature, follow this link.
