Västerbotten

The Västerbotten district is located in northern Sweden and covers Sweden’s second-largest county (roughly one-eighth of Sweden’s total land area). The landscape is diverse, ranging from the rugged coastline along the Gulf of Bothnia to the mountains on the western border with Norway. Agriculture is dominated by forage crops and green fodder, as well as grains such as spring barley and oats. Lantmännen operates a grain reception facility in Dagernäs, outside Umeå, which supplies locally grown grain to, among others, the feed mill in Holmsund.
