Jämtland

The Jämtland district, with approximately 260 members, is located in the inland region of southern Norrland. Jämtland is one of the regions in Sweden with the highest proportion of people living in rural areas. The region has its own dialect, Jamtish (Jamska), and even its own symbolic republic, the Republic of Jamtland, complete with its own national anthem. Agriculture in the district is dominated by forage crops and green fodder, as well as some grain production, particularly spring barley and oats, which are mainly cultivated around Lake Storsjön.
