To minimise waste, we are creating more and more circular flows. From field to fork and back into the loop again. It is an important part of our responsibility and is crucial in order to increase resource efficiency in our production, while reducing our impact on the climate and environment.
Lantmännen Agroetanol's biorefinery
We collect grain, waste products and old bread waste and convert them into biofuels for our trucks, feed for chickens and carbon acid for your sparkling water. All in Lantmännen Agroetanol’s biofuel refinery in Norrköping.
Bread waste recycled in Kotka, Finland
At the end of 2018, Lantmännen opened yet another plant that recycles bread waste for further processing into sustainable biofuels. This creates major benefits for the climate and is an important for the transition to a bio-based circular economy.
Our sites in Järna and in Moss, Norway, are heated using only by-products from food production!
Furniture made from oat husks
Lantmännen is always looking for further development of the grain value chain and is one of the partners in a start-up project financed by Vinnova, the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems. The aim is to create a brand new kind of furniture and furnishings with bio-based materials – in this case, by-products from our production of oats!
