Protein rich food

Proteins are important for bodily functions. Virtually everything that happens in our body cells is dependent on protein. Which is why it is important to choose proteins that supply the essential amino acids we need.

Proteins are made up of amino acids. We cannot produce all these amino acids ourselves and need to get some of them via our diet. These are called essential amino acids and are found in meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, legumes and grains, for instance.

The protein composition of oats is good. More and more people are moving toward a more vegetarian diet and in which case, it is important to choose foods that are high in protein and essential amino acids.

It is especially important that growing children have the right composition of protein. Lantmännen offers many products with plant based protein, such as lentils, seeds, nuts, beans and bean products.

Protein in porridge and muesli

People sometimes forget that grains and legumes are rich in proteins. For example, oats contain around 10 % protein and a very good composition of amino acids. Eaten with some milk, such as in porridge and with muesli, you get the full benefit of the protein in oats.
