Lantmännen is committed through policies and sets targets to continuously reduce potential negative impact on people and environment. Our commitments are described in our supplier code of conduct and policy for risk raw material.

Risk commodities, such as cacao and wood, are used in Lantmännen's products and can have a negative impact on people and environment, to contribute to more sustainable grown products Lantmännen is collaborating with others in the industry, read more about our collaborations here. The commodities Soy and Palm are described separately. 

Cacao 

Cacao is mainly used in baking and breakfast products. The cultivation of cacao is linked to potential negative impacts, such as deforestation and poor working conditions. To prevent negative impact and contribute to a more sustainable value chain, Lantmännen is committed to purchasing products certified according to Rainforest alliance or corresponding standard by the end of 2025. 

Wood in packing material and for energy production 

Within Lantmännen wood is mainly used as packaging material for food products, and to produce wood energy. To avoid contributing to negative impact, such as deforestation, Lantmännen has committed to buying 100 % certified wood according to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), or wood with confirmed Nordic origin.
