We are smarter, stronger, better together. That is the insight and starting point for the ambition to find new ways of working and innovating inside Lantmännen. This year’s Greenhouse Program, themed Circular Futures, invites you to rethink food production, from grain to finished product.
Our five challenges
This year's program divided into five challenges. We have now closed the intake of ideas for the challenges. If you are interested in participating in any activities, email someone in the Greenhouse team. Contact details are at the bottom of the page!
1. Breathing new life into obsolete finished goods: How could we save products that have too short best before time left or have deviations in product features?
2. Boosting circularity in bakeries: How could we turn the side streams and production waste from the bakeries into new, high value ingredients? Or could we find new innovative ways to minimize these streams?
3. Upgrading residuals from the grain intake: How might we develop new applications to increase the value of residue from grain intake?
4. The future pea protein factory: How might we utilize the side streams from our future pea protein factory in the best possible way?
5. All other grain value chain circularity ideas! Do you have an idea that doesn’t fit into the previously mentioned topics?
What is the Greenhouse?

Important dates and facts
We are now in the middle of our 2023-2024 Program "Circular Futures". More information about the next program will come after the summer of 2024.
What happens to the received ideas?
All the received ideas are read and evaluated by cross-functional teams representing different businesses and Group R&D during November.
Among the received ideas, Lantmännen senior management will choose 5-10 most potential internal ideas to be further developed in the Accelerator in the spring by small cross-functional teams. The cross-functional teams will be set in January together with senior leadership and supervisors from respective businesses. When you are sending in your idea, you can say if you would be interested to develop your idea further in Accelerator - or if you just want to send in your brilliant idea for others to develop further! Read more about last year’s Accelerator here.
And maybe not some of the great ideas don’t need further development in Accelerator but are ready or almost ready to implemented in some parts of the business as such or through the local investment processes. All ideas are stored for possible use!
All, who have sent an idea to the open call, will get a reply in December.
Participate in a series of events, workshops and gatherings where we together create smart solutions to some of the industry's biggest challenges.
