Scan Sverige acquires Lindvalls Chark AB

Press releases, 2025

Scan Sverige, part of Lantmännen since spring of 2024, has signed an agreement to acquire Lindvalls Chark AB. The acquisition means that Scan Sverige broadens its business portfolio and consolidates its position as Sweden’s leading meat and charchuterie company. The acquisition of Lindvalls is also a step in strengthening Swedish food production.

Lindvalls Chark AB was founded in 1925, and has been part of the Norwegian Jordaneskoncernen since 2017. Lindvalls offers sausages and charcuterie from Swedish farms, has some 100 employees and an annual turnover of around 400 MSEK. At the production facility in Strömsnäsbruk in Småland, the company produces approximately 8 000 tonnes of sausages each year.

“The acquisition of Lindvalls complements Scan Sverige's existing business and brands in an excellent way. Lindvalls is a well-known company that is now becoming fully Swedish again. For Lantmännen and our members, Swedish farmers, the acquisition is yet another investment in Swedish food production and in strengthening long-term conditions for Swedish agriculture,” says Magnus Kagevik, Group President and CEO of Lantmännen.

Lindvalls is a leading brand in service trade and has well-established partnerships with several nationwide chains. In addition, they also have a presence in retail trade with their own product brand.

“Scan Sverige is already established as having one of the strongest and broadest ranges and offerings on the market when it comes to Swedish meat and charcuterie. Our acquisition of Lindvalls will further strengthen our position, not least in the convenience area – and with their expertise and well-reputed brand, we further our access to a flexible and customer-oriented organization. The acquisition also enables us to continue leading the way forward in terms of increased, sustainable meat production – along with members, colleagues, and suppliers,” says Lars Appelqvist, MD of Scan Sverige.

The transaction means that Scan Sverige will acquire the entire Lindvalls Chark AB operation, while intending to handle the newly acquired business as a separate business unit with continued production in Strömsnäsbruk.

“We at Jordanes have had an exciting and positive journey along with Lindvalls. The organization is truly competent, their products are amazing, they have a unique position in the marketplace – and solid collaboration with customers. We look forward to following the development with their new owner,” says Markus Matsson, MD Lindvalls Chark AB and Chief Commercial Officer Jordanes Meat.

The transaction is subject to approval by the relevant authorities and is expected to close in the first half of 2025.
