Interest in investing in Swedish agriculture is strong. In 2025, Tillväxtbolaget reached its highest lending volume to date, and 2026 has started very strongly. Since 2018, the company has approved loans totaling approximately 700 million kronor, enabling underlying investments in Swedish agriculture of more than five billion kronor. More than 200 agricultural businesses have received loans since the company was founded.

Through the new partnership with Lantmännen Finans, Tillväxtbolaget has secured the ability to continue offering top-up loans with attractive terms to agricultural entrepreneurs looking to invest for growth. This is an important reinforcement that will contribute to increased Swedish agricultural production, stronger self-sufficiency and a green transition. The new financing structure developed with Lantmännen Finans is also designed to accommodate potential future government financing opportunities.

"For Sweden's agricultural businesses, this means better access to capital and more attractive financing terms. It creates better conditions for investments that strengthen both companies and Swedish food production. This is especially important for young entrepreneurs who want to invest in, develop or take over agricultural businesses," says Helena Silvander, CEO of Tillväxtbolaget.

Farmers will continue to work directly with Tillväxtbolaget, as before.

"It is very pleasing to launch a long-term financing solution that can secure the capital needed for the green transition required to achieve the goals of Sweden's national food strategy. Tillväxtbolaget will continue to finance strong growth projects across all production sectors – dairy, meat and crop production," says Per Arfvidsson, chairman of Tillväxtbolaget and deputy CEO of Lantmännen.

"This is an important solution for efficiently financing the ownership transfers and expansions that Swedish agriculture needs. It strengthens companies' development capacity and contributes to a strong and competitive Swedish food production sector," says Erik Pihlo, acting CEO of Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund.

At the same time as the cooperation agreement with Lantmännen Finans is signed, an ownership change is taking place in Tillväxtbolaget. Through the new financing solution, the company gains a long-term sustainable capital structure and strengthened financial capacity. Against this backdrop, Svensk Mjölk is exiting its ownership stake in Tillväxtbolaget to prioritize other investments. Svensk Mjölk has been part of developing Tillväxtbolaget together with Lantmännen, LRF, Scan Sverige and Växa.
