Scan Sverige and Svenska Juniorkocklandslaget on tour – professionals gathered around school meals

In late March and early April, Lantmännen, through Scan Sverige and together with Svenska Juniorkocklandslaget, the Swedish junior culinary team, brought together meal planners, heads of food service and school chefs from across Sweden for inspiration and knowledge-sharing on Swedish school meals. Across five locations, more than 200 participants from over 50 municipalities took part in an initiative focused on taste, nutrition, kitchen economics and reduced food waste.

The tour visited Staffanstorp, Mölndal, Nyköping, Danderyd and Sundsvall. At each stop, four new dishes were prepared together with local school chefs. The recipes were developed by Svenska Juniorkocklandslaget and adapted for use in school kitchens, with a focus on nutritious meals, Swedish ingredients and a format that works in everyday kitchen operations.

The school kitchen tour shows how collaboration between public kitchens and industry stakeholders can help develop Swedish school meals through Swedish ingredients, knowledge and practical solutions that work in everyday life.

Through brands such as Scan, AXA and Kungsörnen, Lantmännen is close to many everyday meals. The initiative is in line with Lantmännen’s view of food, where taste, quality and responsibility across the entire food value chain are central.
