A Journey through Lantmännen's Graduate Trainee Program: Thea's first Pulse experience
After completing the first rotation in the graduate trainee program, it was time for our first "Pulse." My fellow trainees and I had the incredible opportunity to explore various facets of Lantmännen's operations.
A "Pulse" is a recurring event after each rotation, designed for all trainees and program manager Carina Eriksson to meet up, share our experiences, visit different sites, and recharge for the next rotation.
Over three days, we visited four different sites: Cerealia in Järna, Swecon in Eskilstuna, Agriculture at Djurön, and Biorefineries in Norrköping. This experience not only broadened our understanding of the company's diverse operations but also allowed us to bond and learn from each other.
Day 1: Visit to Cerealia in Järna and Swecon in Eskilstuna
Our journey began at Lantmännen Cerealia in Järna, where we were introduced to the intricate process of granola production. Observing the detailed processes involved in producing this common breakfast item was fascinating. At this location, Linnéa also got to show her first project over the last three months, which focused on making a process in granola production more efficient.

Our next stop was Swecon Anläggningsmaskiner in Eskilstuna, where we gained insights into their operations and even had the chance to operate heavy machinery like excavators and wheel loaders. This hands-on experience was both thrilling and educational, giving us a deeper understanding of this sector.

Day 2: Full day with the other trainees in Norrköping
On this day, no site visits took place. Instead, the purpose was to have all trainees spend a day together. In the morning, each trainee presented their first rotation project, shared their findings, and discussed what they had learned.
Following the presentations, we created development plans, setting goals and action plans for our next rotation, focusing on personal and professional growth.
The day concluded with an escape room activity, which was a highlight of our trip (and not just because my team won). Working together to solve challenges in a relaxed environment helped us bond and improve our teamwork skills. It was a fun and effective way to strengthen our connections.
Day 3: Agriculture at Djurön and Biorefineries in Norrköping
Our final day was divided between two locations. In the morning, we visited the agricultural site at Djurön, where we observed the processes involved in receiving and loading grain. We were provided with a comprehensive tour to observe every step involved in this procedure.

In the afternoon, we headed to Lantmännen Biorefineries in Norrköping. Here, we explored the energy division and the gluten factory, learning about the innovative ways Lantmännen is contributing to sustainable energy solutions and food production.
Preparing for the future
These three days were not just about learning and observing; they were about recharging and preparing for the next phase of our journey. As I head to my next rotation at Lantmännen Unibake in Copenhagen, I carry with me a wealth of experiences, excitement, and a deeper understanding of Lantmännen's diverse operations. I am highly impressed by the wide range of Lantmännen's activities and take pride in being part of an organization that consistently prioritizes sustainability, innovation, and employee empowerment across all sectors and business areas.
