”The great uncertainty in the world around us has a clear dampening effect on demand in Lantmännen’s businesses. The result has also been negatively impacted by currency effects and divestments. In light of the weak result and increased uncertainty in our markets, a group-wide cost-saving program has been initiated. The program includes necessary adaptations to ensure competitiveness and profitability,” says Magnus Kagevik, Group President and CEO of Lantmännen.
The result after net financial items amounted to 411 MSEK (708). The lower result was mainly due to exchange losses, partly offset by lower interest costs.
The figures below refer to operating income. Last year’s result in parentheses.
The Agriculture Division’s result amounted to 73 MSEK (28). The higher result was primarily driven by an improvement in the grain business in Agriculture Sweden, and by a higher result in Lantmännen Machinery. A generally weak Finnish agricultural market contributed to a lower result in Agriculture Finland.
The Energy Division’s reported a result of 97 MSEK (160). The lower result is mainly explained by the divestment of pellet company Scandbio in November of last year, but also by slightly lower results in Lantmännen Biorefineries and Lantmännen Aspen. Both businesses were adversely impacted by the Swedish currency strengthening during the four-month period.
With effect from the first four-month period of 2025, Scan Sverige is reported as an integrated part of the Food Division, whose result amounted to 228 MSEK (327). The decreased result was primarily due to lower demand within Lantmännen Unibake. Lantmännen Cerealia delivered a result in line with the previous year. The integration of Scan Sverige has been completed, and the business is developing positively.
The Swecon Division delivered a result of 200 MSEK (247). The lower result is mostly explained by lower sales of new machines in both Sweden and Germany.
The Real Estate Division’s result amounted to 108 MSEK (130). The previous year’s result was positively affected by one-time items. All parts of the business continue their stable development.
“A turbulent world can also create opportunities, and Lantmännen has a strong balance sheet which makes it possible for us to act on growth opportunities that arise. We are active in two key sectors of the future: agriculture and food, and continue our investments in increasing food production to strengthen Swedish food supply. With well implemented measures, we will meet the challenges facing us and strengthen the position for Lantmännen and Swedish agriculture in the longer term,” says Magnus Kagevik.
