We have more and more mouths to feed, and we need to reduce our impact on the climate. This is not an easy task, but we know it can be done. Farming of the Future - the report

Farm of the Future

Farm of the Future is where therories are put into practices. The first test farm, Bjertorp which focus on crop cultivation, was inaugurated 2020. Since then two farms have been added to the concept, Viken and Svalöv. Viken is our milk farm and Svalöv works with advanced plant breeding.

Yearbook 2023

Farming of the Future is Lantmännen's vision and strategy for sustainable and profitable Swedish agriculture by 2050. Through our long-term work, we are driving sustainable development in the value chain from field to fork – and getting closer to our goal. In our yearbook, we present our progress during the past harvest year.

Research to realize Farming of the Future

In 2023, Lantmännen’s Research Foundation awarded SEK 28 million in the three focus areas – Agriculture and Machinery, Food and Health, and Bioenergy and Green Materials. Here, Helena Fredriksson, Head of Research at the Foundation, talks about some of the projects that have been granted funding.

Increased preparedness provides better sustainability in the food value chain

The issue of crisis preparedness has received increasing attention due to geopolitical tension and accelerating climate change.
