Linde and Lantmännen invests in additional capacity at Norlic, our LCO2-plant in Norrköping

Press releases, 2020

Linde (formerly AGA) and Lantmännen Agroetanol has decided to expand the LCO2-plant Norlic in Norrköping, where carbon dioxide from sustainable ethanol production is cleaned and re-used.  The expansion will increase production efficiency and storage capabilities.

The expansion of the plant will stabilize and build CO2 supply, and is expected to provide immediate growth opportunities and savings. The investment amounts to close to 100 million SEK and will increase capacity by a 100 tons per day.

"With the expansion of Norlic we can meet an increasing demand for carbon dioxide from the paper & pulp industry, as well as from the food industry. This is very positive after several years of CO2 shortages," says Jan Ellringmann, Business President REN."

The plant, which was inaugurated in 2014, extracts and purifies CO2 from the production of bioethanol of Lantmännen Agroetanol.

"We are very happy with the Linde partnership. Together we contribute to an even more sustainable production of ethanol since the carbon dioxide is taken care of and re-used. Through this investment we increase our production efficiency further, says Lars-Gunnar Edh, CEO Lantmännen Agroetanol."
