Lantmännen in industry dialogue to strengthen Swedish meat production – an important part of the country’s food supply
In a time of geopolitical uncertainty and shifting trade conditions, Swedish meat production plays a central role in Sweden’s food supply. Scan Sverige views Fredensborgsdagarna as an opportunity to work with farmers on the challenges and opportunities the sector faces. Food supply is an issue that engages all of Lantmännen, where meat production is an integral part.
"Lantmännen operates across the entire value chain, and our strength is the whole chain from field to fork. When arable farming and livestock production develop together, synergies emerge that strengthen agriculture as a whole. That is the foundation for a strong and long-term sustainable Swedish food supply," says Jan-Erik Hansson, chair of the board of Lantmännen, who was one of the speakers at Fredensborgsdagarna.
During the days, the awards Årets leverantör (Supplier of the Year) and Scan Sverige’s sustainability award were also presented to farmers who have distinguished themselves in efforts to support a sustainable and resilient meat production. For more information, visit Scan Sverige’s website.
