Labour in our value chain

Lantmännen's value chain spans the globe and includes suppliers who contribute resources and services that are crucial to our business, from raw materials to food and feed production, to energy, packaging, transport, logistics, and indirect materials and services. Although these employees are not directly employed by us, we have a responsibility to promote good working conditions and counteract discrimination throughout the supply chain. Through follow-up, dialogue and clear requirements in our purchasing processes, we work to reduce risks and contribute to a more sustainable and fair value chain.

Lantmännen works systematically to identify, minimize and follow up on negative impacts on the workforce in our value chain. Our Code of Conduct, together with our Supplier Code of Conduct, forms the basis for a responsible value chain and includes requirements related to child labour, forced labour, wages, equal treatment, and health and safety. These requirements are based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

We promote fair working conditions through established certification schemes for high-risk products and collaborate with industry peers to increase our impact. We conduct ongoing sustainability audits for suppliers and evaluate potential suppliers against our Code of Conduct. In the event of deviations, an action plan is developed together with the responsible purchaser.

To further strengthen our work on sustainability in the value chain, we have initiated a review of our Group-wide procurement process and conducted workshops on human rights with key people.

The proportion of medium and high-risk suppliers who signed our Code of Conduct was 96% at the end of 2024
