To meet market demands in our food business, we use eggs from free-range* hens in our food products.

The overall Swedish egg production is an important part of Swedish agriculture and for Lantmännen. Sweden has very strict animal welfare laws and Swedish egg producers stand for production with important added values, such as good animal husbandry and good infection control.

Lantmännen uses eggs as a raw material in several different products, such as pancakes, pastries and baking mixes. The production and origin of eggs is not only an important issue for us, but also for our customers in the food industry. Lantmännen stands behind all Swedish egg producers who have a legal production with high quality and good protection for animal welfare, but in order to meet customer and market requirements in food, we have started to make a gradual adaptation to eggs from free-range* hens in our food products.

For some time now, all our pancakes have been using exclusively Swedish egg raw material from free-range hens. Lantmännen's bakery operations in Sweden only use eggs from free-range hens.
