Lantmännen is one of the actors behind the industry initiative Sustainable Food Chain, which was launched in June 2015.

Lantmännen is one of the members of the Haga Initiative. The Haga Initiative's vision is to achieve a profitable business sector without climate impact.

Fossil Free Sweden is a platform for dialogue and collaboration between companies, municipalities and other types of actors who want to make Sweden free of fossil fuels, in which Lantmännen participates.

Climate-neutral road freight transport, KNEG, is a collaborative project with a vision that freight transport on Swedish roads will be climate-neutral and drive solutions in both transport efficiency and biofuels.

Lantmännen is a member of Transparency International, TI, Sweden's business "Corporate Supporters Forum", which actively works with the fight against corruption through knowledge exchange.

Lantmännen is one of the members of the Haga Initiative. The Haga Initiative's vision is to achieve a profitable business sector without climate impact. The Responsible Shipping Initiative, RSI, is a collaboration between large Swedish buyers of bulk transport that strive for better working conditions and safety on board ships in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.

Lantmännen is an important player in the grain value chain. As a large company, we also have a great responsibility. Corporate responsibility is clarified in international initiatives and principles, for example. Lantmännen has signed the UN's initiative for responsible business, Global Compact. 

Together with KTH and SP, we have produced the report In the shadow of eco – strategies for increased sustainability throughout the food chain. The report focuses on the potential to strengthen environmental considerations throughout the production chain from farm to fork, and highlights a number of different proposals for action in the food industry and in public procurement.

Since 2014, Lantmännen, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and about 40 other Swedish companies and organisations have been working to increase the proportion of responsibly grown soy used by the Swedish food sector. The agreement in the Swedish Soy Dialogue means that 100 percent of the soy used in food from the signatory companies will be responsibly produced, from the year 2015. This is fulfilled through the purchase of soy that is certified according to credible standards accepted by the Soy Dialogue.

Lantmännen has collaborated with the aid organization We Effect since 2003. We Effect works to ensure that people living in poverty and vulnerability have a better life, including by helping farmers grow more and better food, in a sustainable way. 

Two raw materials that are important to Lantmännen, but which are also often associated with problematic growing conditions and complex supply chains, are palm oil and soy. For several years, Lantmännen has actively participated in national and international collaborations to contribute to more sustainable production, and to ensure that the volumes we buy have been produced in a responsible manner.

WWF runs the Baltic Stewardship Initiative – an international network that aims to get actors in the food chain to increase circulation and minimize the leakage of plant nutrients through sustainable and profitable methods. Behind the initiative are WWF, Lantmännen and LRF with funding from the Swedish Board of Agriculture. The goal is to reduce eutrophication in watercourses, lakes and the Baltic Sea.
