About Stakes and Dividends

Here we clarify the concepts of dividends and provide an overall picture of how trading in issue efforts takes place.

When you become a member of Lantmännen, three accounts are created for you.

  • Contribution capital account (paid-in contributions)
  • Issue capital account (contributions issued)
  • Account for savings.

What you buy from Lantmännen Lantbruk, from Lantmännen Maskin and Swecon and the grain you sell to Lantmännen Lantbruk during a year constitutes your contribution-based turnover with the association.

Refunds from Lantmännen are calculated on your purchases from Agriculture/Machinery/Swecon. There can be different percentages for Agriculture and Machinery.

You receive post-payment for grain and oilseeds that you sell to Agriculture.

For the first five years as a member, all your refunds, arrears and contribution distributions go to contribution amortization in order for you to reach the basic contribution of SEK 10,000, which is collected in your account for contribution capital.

After you have reached your basic stake, half of your refund and subsequent payment will go to your account for contribution capital as amortization of your contribution obligation. The contribution obligation is 15% of your average stake-based turnover. What does not go to  the deposit amortization goes to your savings account. You can leave the money in your savings account or withdraw, as you wish.

As a member, you can increase the amortisation rate of your contribution obligation to more than 50 per cent. This must then be announced before March 31.

You can also make a cash payment to fulfil your contribution obligation in whole or in part prematurely. The application and payment must then be made before 30 June of the year in question.

Contact the Membership Office for questions and to order a form.

In addition to the repayment you receive through your contribution-based turnover  with Lantmännen, the association also distributes part of the profits made in Lantmännen's industrial operations, such as Unibake and Cerealia. This part of the profit is distributed as a stake distribution and issue stake.

The contribution dividend is a dividend (interest) on the contributed capital and issue capital that the members participate with in the association. The contribution dividend is also used, like bonuses and arrears, for contribution amortisation.

The issue contribution is a special form of dividend that is based on the year's profit after tax or previously saved profits that have not been distributed. It is the Group Board of Directors that makes proposals for how large the dividend should be. This proposal is then presented to the Annual General Meeting, where a decision on all dividends is decided.

How much issue contributions you receive as a member depends partly on how much capital (paid in and issued) you have in Lantmännen in relation to other members, and partly on how large your contribution-based turnover with Lantmännen is  compared to other members. Your dividend is reported on the membership notice that is sent out after the Annual General Meeting each year and which is also available on your page at LM2 Ekonomi.

The issue stakes you receive are collected in your issue capital account. You can easily see your balance on your page on LM2 Finance.
