Norrbotten

District Norrbotten is located in upper Norrland. Norrbotten County is the country's largest and in terms of surface area almost a quarter of Sweden's total land area. Norrbotten has a distinct inland climate and is affected by easterly winds from the east. In winter, the district can have the lowest temperatures in the whole country, and in summer it has among Europe's highest temperatures during parts of the summer. Cultivation in the district is dominated by grassland and green fodder as well as cereals such as spring barley and oats. The district has just over 260 members.
