The cooperative

Lantmännen is owned by 17,000 farmers who are both owners and business partners. The cooperative company form utilises joint strengths to strengthen the profitability of the members' farms and maximise the return on their capital in the association.

More about the cooperative

The Lantmännen model

Lantmännen is an economic association, which means that each member has one vote and thus an equal opportunity to influence district meetings. The cooperative business form offers many advantages, especially the democratic arrangement with one member – one vote. Through member meetings and district meetings with motions and letters, each member can express his or her opinion and influence the activities.

Statutes and governance

The association's activities are governed by the statutes and the Associations Act. A member can be directly affiliated, or a member of one of the 22 local associations, all of which are independent legal entities.

Corporate governance takes place via district general meetings, the general meeting, the Group Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees.

Districts

Lantmännen is divided into 20 districts from Norrbotten to Skåne. Each district has a districtboard that engages in issues that affect the whole of Lantmännen, and is responsible for membership issues in its district.

Member representation

The Lantmännen cooperative is built on the commitment of its members – it is the basis for our joint success. Through membership , you have the opportunity to be involved, influence and exert influence in various forums. Lantmännen is owned and governed by its members, and the association's statutes form the basic framework for how the cooperative is managed and how you as a member can influence the business.

Board of Trustees

An example of member representation is Lantmännen's Board of Trustees, which supports the Board in its management of the association, and also works for a positive development of Lantmännen.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting is held annually and is Lantmännen's highest decision-making body. The General Council consists of the elected members from the district meetings, and the previous year's activities and results are discussed, motions received are discussed, new Board members are elected, and decisions are made on discharge from liability for the Board of Directors and the CEO.

Local associations

22 local associations are affiliated with Lantmännen. The associations are independent legal entities, i.e. economic associations that are members of Lantmännen.
