In our report, we show how Swedish agriculture should meet climate and environmental challenges and at the same time produce more from arable land. In order to predict what agricultural yields and impacts will look like in the future, we have developed a model that describes the potential for Future Agriculture. We have used winter wheat as a model crop, and calculated the climate impact of the cultivation's value chain.

Our report Future Agriculture: Milk & Beef shows the way forward for Swedish dairy and beef production, where cattle have an important role in the sustainable food system of the future.There are good opportunities to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement and achieve climate-neutral agriculture by 2050, while at the same time benefiting biodiversity and increasing food production with continued high animal welfare. 

In 2024, the climate footprint of Hagshultskossornas Kopensionat, a farm that works with new methods to reduce the climate impact of beef production, was analyzed. The results are described in this report, which describes important measures to reduce climate emissions. Through the concrete example in Hagshult, we can see what effects the measures can have in practice. The analysis shows that it is already possible to achieve climate goals for 2030 in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
