Lantmännen receives a dispensation to continue grain operations at Frihamnen

Lantmännen and Stockholms Hamnar have agreed on a dispensation that allows grain operations at Frihamnen in Stockholm to continue. The dispensation applies for three years, with an option to extend for a further two years. At the same time, development is underway to build a more modern, long-term sustainable grain infrastructure in Mälardalen and Hargshamn.

Lantmännen’s current lease at Frihamnen in Stockholm expires in December 2028. The dispensation postpones the decommissioning of the silo facility, meaning Lantmännen can continue operating the site.

"We are continuing to develop a modern, long-term sustainable grain infrastructure in Mälardalen and Hargshamn, while operations at Frihamnen can continue for three more years. The dispensation gives us time to ensure a responsible and stable transition," says Joachim Haas, vd för division Fastighet, Lantmännen.

"Frihamnen is an important part of Stockholm’s port infrastructure, and we welcome the decision that Lantmännen will continue its operations at Frihamnen. Transition solutions of this kind are crucial for the port area’s development to proceed in the long term, in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders," says Jens Holm (V), styrelseordförande, Stockholms Hamnar.

The dispensation period runs for three years starting 1 January 2029, with an option to extend for a further two years.
