New members join the Lantmännen Board

During Lantmännen’s Annual General Meeting today it was decided upon new board members. The meeting elected Johan Bygge and Per Wijkander as new board members, in line with the nomination committee’s proposal.

During 2018, the Lantmännen board consisted of Per Lindahl (Chair), Hans Wallemyr (Deputy Chair), Sonat Burman-Olsson, Ulf Gundemark, Ove Gustafsson, Johan Mattsson, Gunilla Aschan and Henrik Wahlberg, plus three employee representatives.

During the Annual General Meeting − held today, 8th of May, in Stockholm − it was decided that the Lantmännen Board of Directors should consist of nine members elected at the Annual General Meeting, plus three employee representatives. The meeting confirmed the re-election of Per Lindahl, Hans Wallemyr, Johan Mattsson, Gunilla Aschan and Henrik Wahlberg. The meeting also elected Johan Bygge and Per Wijkander as new board members, in line with the nomination committee’s proposal. The other members of the board include Ove Gustafsson and Sonat Burman-Olsson. Ulf Gundemark, as previously announced, did not wish to be at the nomination committee’s disposal.

Lantmännen is glad to have re-elected these board members and welcomes Johan Bygge and Per Wijkander.  

Bygge was born in 1956 and has an MBA. He has many years’ of experience from both the manufacturing industry and the financial sector. His strengths lie within business development, strategy, financing and international enterprise. Bygge was most recently Senior Industrial Advisor for EQT in Hong Kong and has previously worked for Investor, Capio and Electrolux. His current Board of Directors assignments include Chair of PSM Holdings Ltd, member of the Getinge AB Board and member of the advisory board of SNS.

“I am extremely pleased and honored to have been elected on the Lantmännen Board. I hope that my background in Swedish industry, my international business experience and my expertise will contribute to creating value for the company. I am really looking forward to take part in the further development of Lantmännen,” says Johan Bygge. 

 Wijkander was born in 1977 and is an agronomist. He owns a farm in Upplands Bro and also works as a real estate agent. His farming company includes arable crops, forestry and hydroelectric power. Wijkander is a genuine hands-on farmer with extensive knowledge of Swedish agriculture and business conditions. Via work at HaGe Kiel, he has also gained a good understanding of Lantmännen’s international operations within the farming area. Until now, Wijkander has been chair of the Lantmännen Uppland District.

“Lantmännen is very important for Swedish farming and I feel truly honored to be elected as a board member. It is with great enthusiasm that I take on my new duties and I feel very humbled by the confidence given to me. I will do my best to contribute as much as I can to Lantmännen’s continued development in the best interest of its members, the farmers,” says Per Wijkander. 

At the statutory meeting that was held after the Annual General Meeting, Per Lindahl was re-elected Chair of the Board and Hans Wallemyr was elected Deputy Chair.
