An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Senior accountant to join our Lantmännen Unibake team at our office in Pantelimon, Ilfov.

The role will report to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the accounting operations of the company, including monthly closing of financial books and annual statutory reporting, in full compliance with legislation (tax, accounting, etc.) and internal policies.

This is what you will do:

  • Ensure timely and accurate accounting activities including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Inter-Company, VAT and Tax reporting transactions, Inventories, Reporting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Maintenance robust accounting control procedures to maintain a solid internal control framework, accompanied by documentation
  • Prepare semester/annual statutory financial statements in adherence to Romanian legislation standards
  • Prepare and submits all statutory, tax and other declarations (such as D100, D101, D120, D207, D300, D390, D394, Intrastat)
  • Be part of monthly closing process and perform reconciliations for all general ledger accounts
  • Propose enhancements to accounting processes and systems for increased efficiency
  • Act as primary accounting resource for external audit activities by facilitating necessary information and reports, ensuring the prompt completion of the annual financial statements audit
  • Ensures all necessary supporting documents are archived to comply with fiscal/statutory regulations

This is what you need to succeed:

  • University Degree (preferably in Accounting)
  • Minimum 5-7 years working experience in accounting ideally within a company with production activities
  • Solid knowledge and professional experience with Romanian accounting and tax legislation and good understanding of external audit, internal controls, and reporting procedure - IFRS is a plus
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • Excellent skills in Excel
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX knowledge would be an advantage)
  • CECCAR affiliated / CAFR affiliation is a plus
