We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Platform Lead to support Unibake on our goal to become the most tech enabled bakery in the world.

This is what you will do

Join our dynamic team as the Data Platform Lead, where you will be reporting to the Data & Analytics Manager and work with a talented team of Data Engineers.

You will be leading our Data Platform team and play a key role in our ambition to drive better data-driven decision making across the organisation. You will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and operations of the data platform, ensuring it provides a robust, scalable and efficient data foundation to support our current and future business needs. On a daily basis, you will be leading the data platform team and will have the opportunity to play a key role in data initiatives across Unibake. You will be the main point of contact for the data platform team, collaborating closely with the Analytics team, project teams, as well as our units across the globe.

Primary areas of responsibility

  • Leading the Data Platform team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability
  • Managing the teams’ roadmap and backlog, being the key point of contact between the platform team and our customers across Unibake and our units
  • Platform leadership, leading the development, implementation and operations of our data platform, ensuring its reliability, scalability and security
  • Data architecture and governance, designing and implementing pipelines and workflows to streamline data access and usage across the business
  • Data strategy, developing a longer-term platform strategy that meets our future analytics goals, including moving towards a data mesh and more advanced analytics
  • Data integration, overseeing the integration of diverse data sources, ensuring a seamless data flow and availability for reporting and analytics
  • Performance optimization, continually monitoring and improving the data platforms performance, ensuring high availability and cost-effectiveness
  • Compliance & Security, ensuring that all data processes and storage solutions comply with relevant regulations and security best practices.

    You have:

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a data organisation, with at least 2 years in a team lead role
    • Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g. Azure), data warehouses (e.g. Synapse) and data lake architectures
    • Strong knowledge of modern data engineering technologies, such as ETL pipelines, streaming data, and database management.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.
    • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

    • A passion for data and the desire to leverage this to drive better decision making across the organisation
    • Experience with establishing and operating a data mesh architecture
    • Proven track record of fostering collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners to drive forward initiatives and achieve results.
    • Ability to navigate complex business environments, effectively managing competing priorities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to articulate ideas clearly and influence key stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

Location/Travels

Lantmännen Unibake International HQ in Copenhagen, Ørestad.
Traveling 1-2 times monthly to business units when required depending on phase in planned or ongoing BP2/BP3 implementation projects.
