Business Controller

As a Commercial Business Controller, you contribute actively to the commercial strategy of our cluster - covering Belgium, Netherlands, France, Italy & Spain. You will help and support the commercial teams in making the right business decisions by creating transparency in the financial performance. You overview and manage insights of performance and outlook of the business, on country, channel and product level. You will report to the Head of Controlling.

Your key responsibilities

  • You challenge and support the country managers with accurate management information and transparency on performance.
  • You lead deliverables from controlling, such as weekly and monthly dashboards, participate in the month-end closing process, support and coordination of yearly budget and forecasts
  • You support in the S&OP process by:
    • preparing the Financial Performance for the product review meeting for the category managers by using our PBI dashboards and by analyzing variances and gaps
    • preparing the full year outlook in terms of turnover in volume, net sales and gross profit and verifying the sales pipeline accuracy
    • supporting the country manager to prepare the monthly go-to-market meetings and help identify gap and gap closing activities
    • formulating recommendations and improvements in the process to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the S&OP cycle.
    • follow up the action points and communicate towards the different stakeholders within the s&op process
  • You are a trusted Financial Business Partner to our sales teams by:
    • validation of margin simulations and giving recommendations based on the guidelines.
    • challenging and maintaining the margin model.
    • getting insights in evolution in cogs and supply chain cost.
    • taking up the business champion role in our Power BI Commercial dashboards.
    • monitoring the customer profitability and escalate when identifying new gaps.
  • You drive continuous improvement of financial and commercial processes and systems through further automation and process standardization.
  • You are a strong value-adding business partner and work closely together with the country managers and sales force.

Your profile

  • You graduated as a Master, preferably in an economically oriented specialization.
  • You have a working experience of minimum 5 years – experience in a big four company and/or a first experience as controller is preferred.
  • You have profound knowledge of MS Office tools - especially Excel and PowerPoint – and affinity for new software systems, e.g. BI tool, Power BI
  • You have proficient language skills in Dutch and English; knowledge of any other language is a clear asset.

Place of work: Londerzeel whilst we also offer the possibility of home-working for 1-2 days per week
