We have a great vacancy in our Milton Keynes Bakery for an addtional Production Manager. Managing a team of Shift Managers to ensure operational targets are achieved in respect of output, productivity, quality, waste and costs while ensuring a healthy & safe working environment and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Working closely with internal stakeholders and building strong and credible relationships is essential, along with ensuring that the site is legally compliant, all products are delivered to specification and the teams are highly engaged with the right tools to do their job.
You will be great at:
- Leading, developing and motivating shift management team
- Supporting with planning and managing production schedules to ensure we meet customer delivery requirements, taking into account capacity, labour resource, machine changeover and production line efficiencies and allocated engineering/hygiene shutdown time
- Ensuring a positive attitude to Health & Safety is embedded in your team
- Ensuring that Legal, commercial and moral obligations that food produced is safe for consumption and that food safety standards
- Improve productivity through promoting a Continuous Improvement Culture and manufacturing initiatives, maintaining excellent employee relations and identifying and promoting employee learning and training
- Communicate and maintain good working relationships with other functions including: Engineering, Technical, Quality, NPD, Commercial and HR
- Oversee and liaise as appropriate to introduce new equipment, working methods and product changes agreed with Site GM and internal functions.

- Leadership Experience, immediate team and wider workforce
- Ability to work with colleagues across multiple functions
- Excellent communicator with strong oral and written communication abilities
- Good administration and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Natural problem solver
- Effective time management
- Commercial Skills – awareness of business processes and relationships; managing costs/value for money
- Good attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong communication skills being able to coach and motivate the team, with the ultimate goal of increasing employee engagement
- Ability to interact effectively at senior management levels, within the UK Operational Steering Group and at group level with colleagues from other sites.
- Proven history of effective problem solving and root cause analysis.
