Svalöf Weibull AB and SW Seed are changing their company name to Lantmännen SW Seed

Svalöf Weibull AB and SW Seed are changing their company name to Lantmännen SW Seed as of February 1, 2010. The change of name is in line with Lantmännen’s strategy of collecting all its businesses under one common identity.

Since October 1, 2009, the Lantmännen Group consists of four sectors and Lantmännen SW Seed is a separate business area within Sector Agriculture.

The new name applies to all Lantmännen SW Seed’s legal entities and is valid as of February 1, 2010. Lantmännen SW Seed continues to develop and market competitive varieties and seeds under its SW product brand, which is well-known in a lot of countries.

”We will continue to build on the success that we have enjoyed with our SW varieties over many years. However, in an increasingly competitive market we need to be clearer about who we are and be able to offer our customers an attractive product portfolio. We have to remain in the forefront of developments in new varieties of European agricultural crops. The best way to do this is together, under a single, well-known brand in a strong Nordic company”, says Peter Annas, CEO of Lantmännen SW Seed.

Lantmännen SW Seed is one of Europe’s leading plant breeding companies and the core business is the development and marketing of crops and seeds adapted to the climate in Northern and Central Europe.
