Lantmännen today

Lantmännen ek. för was established on 1 January 2001. The present Group replaced the regional associations which were merged into one organisation. In other words, Lantmännen Group consists of the former associations Gotlands Lantmän, HBK Lantmän, Jönköpings Lantmän, Odal, Skånska Lantmännen, Värmlands Lantmän, Örebro Lantmän, Västerbottens Lantmän and Lantmännens Riksförbund, while Lantmännen itself comprises the former dairy cooperative NNP.

In 2006, Norrbottens Lantmän merged with Lantmännen. There is also an organisation member, Kalmar Lantmän, and 24 local associations - 13 in Skåne and 11 in Halland.

Operations are organised in ten business areas. There are also five corporate functions - Economy & Finance, Information & Communication, Legal Affairs & Organisation, Human Resources and Internal Auditing.

The purpose of the organisation is to maintain a highly competitive enterprise and a cooperative with clear owner control based on the farmers' needs. One of its goals is to create a cohesive Group, able to maximise its strength throughout the value chain and tap into synergies and economies of scale.
